Top websites - searching for internship opportunities
From: Job Searching Technical
Wriiten by Catherine Imperatore

These are the best Web sites and books to use when searching for internships--don't waste your time with other resources. The Web site selections are all comprehensive and updated regularly. Remember, web sites have the most updated information but may not contain all the internships available out there. Internship books differ in that they are only updated every year, but contain many more opportunities with organizations that don’t advertise on the Web.

WetFeet Internships

Great Web site with detailed descriptions of internships posted. You can search by location and keywords.

InternWeb
You’ll need to register (for free) to search this site. It also has a lot of information and advice on the internship experience.

Idealist.org Internships
This extensive and recently updated Web site features mostly non-profit internships.

MonsterTRAK
You’ll need a password from your campus career center to log onto this great site.

AfterCollege Internships
Good Web site with a nice-sized collection of jobs that are updated often.

The Princeton Review
This page will direct you to several internships, including internships with major industry leaders like Fox and Hewlett-Packard.

The Best 109 Internships
This Princeton Review book focuses on the elite internships, but also lists more than 20,000 opportunities. It has received great reviews on Amazon.

Peterson's Internships
Here you’ll find more than 50,000 internships.

The Internship Bible
From the Princeton Review, this book claims to list more than 100,000 internships. I didn’t count, but the book is very heavy.

Vault Guide to Top Internships
This guide has internships from more than 700 different companies and organizations.

DEVJOBS

This website provides some (but limited) internship opportunities from time to time. .

“Online job sites sometines tend to overwhelm people. The key for most people to realize is that you can’t conduct your job search entirely from your computer. You have to get in front of prospective bosses to get an offer.”

From: John Challenger, chief executive officer of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, a firm that helps place people in jobs and does business consulting.
