In August 2006, We installed an online Customer Support Ticket System so that customers (employers) can send us high-priority messages. Customers can send various messages, for example - questions on job postings and fees, instructions to the DEVJOBS editor regarding number of days to run an ad, requests for corrections of ads, questions on billing and payment, etc. Usually, only sensitive information are handled through this ticket system. A ticket is assigned to each question or message. We respond to your comment ticket quickly, normally within 24 hours after receipt. In September 2006, we revived our long-dormant mailing list database. That mailing list has been in existence and in use since 1999 when DEVJOBS started but it was partially damaged in mid-2005 by viruses. Our staff has taken steps to carefully reconstruct the mailing list using backups. Finally, after a long reconstruction process, we put the mailing list back online, this time in a more secure server and environment to prevent a repeat of troubles experienced in 2005. The new webhost has strong defenses against viruses and other malware. Currently, more than 30,000 people are included in the list, which is purely a double opt-in/opt-out format, and the list fully complies with the U.S. CAN-SPAM law. We made the mail-outs on weekly basis to reduce the amount of emails going out and reduce strain on our webserver. To learn more about the new online mailing list, click here.
In August 2006, we installed an online Guestbook where members and website visitors can log on and leave their comments and suggestions. To see the Guestbook, click here.
During the period July to September 2006, we have taken incremental steps to improve the homepage to make it more visually appealing and dynamic. Currently, we are slowly improving the other pages within the site, to make them more dynamic.
To make our day less dreary and more fun, we introduced a "Joke of the Day" section at the bottom of most pages in this site, showing a funny cartoon. Thanks to www.jokesontheweb.com and www.markstivers.com for these funny cartoons.
