Mercy Corps is seeking a seasoned finance and accounting professional for our operations in Afghanistan.  The successful candidate will manage all aspects of daily financial and administration operations for this high profile, multi-donor operation. This experienced professional, as our Finance and Administration Manager, will also ensure compliance with donor regulations, procurement and reporting requirements.

 

The successful candidate will have a BA/S in accounting/finance or equivalent and four years advanced accounting, fund accounting, financial management and auditing experience. Three years of grant management experience, along with two years experience in an international NGO/PVO and knowledge of grant management and donor policies and procedures including budget preparation and analysis and financial report preparation, are required.  Ability to live in a strict and remote Muslim environment is essential.  Regional experience and a familiarity with local languages are preferred.

Mercy Corps is seeking an experienced Development Project Manager to oversee all aspects of the Mercy Corps Umbrella Grant project in Southern Afghanistan. This individual will also be responsible for developing and expanding the project in coordination with the Director of Programs for Southern Afghanistan.

 

This position requires a BA/BS or equivalent in international development or a relevant field, with five years international experience with an NGO preferred. Three years experience in administering relief and/or development programs and ensuring compliance with donor regulations is required, as well as experience working with local NGO/community partners are required. Demonstrated skill and experience managing, tracking and reporting for subgrants and varied types of commodity, financial and inventory tracking and management systems are required. The ability to work comfortably and effectively in the religious, security and political climate of Afghanistan is vital. The outstanding candidate will have proven experience and success in working with and implementing programs through local partners.

The Chief of Party is the top management position for Mercy Corps in Mongolia with responsibility over the Gobi Regional Economic Growth Initiative (Gobi Initiative) and all in-country personnel and policies. The Chief of Party is responsible for implementing and managing the next phases of the Gobi Initiative - programs which include Herder Management and Livestock Improvement, Range Land and Water Management, and Business Development.  The Chief of Party will generate program and administrative resources in the field to supplement or complement the Gobi Initiative, especially from host country government agencies and implementing partners.  The Chief of Party ensures that all programs are planned and executed with quality, accountability, and measurable impact.

 

Qualified candidates will have an BA/BS in International Development, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Business or a related field with several years of experience in senior-level management within the program sectors described above.  Proven skill in host government, multiple donor and implementing partner relations is an absolute must.   The Chief of Party will have excellent communication, management and programming skills, and must be able to work comfortably within the Mongolian cultural environment.
