Candidates must have experience managing multi-site community infrastructure development programs. Candidates should also have professional experience in alternative energy sources, construction contracting, economic development and agricultural development. A demonstrated ability to effectively manage relations with multiple donors, governmental representatives, community groups, NGOs, and a multi-ethnic staff is essential. Experience working in the Caucasus region, and local language skills are also required. Preference is for a candidate with a Master’s Degree in a related field.

Specific responsibilities for the position include:

Business development/ proposals (approximately 50%)

* Identify and track new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

* MBA, JD or International Relations graduate degree preferred.

* 10+ years of work experience in development consulting with expertise in at least one of the following technical areas: enterprise development, privatization, enterprise restructuring, commercial law, and/or SME development.

* Detailed knowledge of and experience working with major donor agencies (familiarity with USAID or World Bank is highly preferred).

* Excellent conceptual and writing skills with the ability to lead proposal efforts.

* Previous work experience in a developing country or with a developing agency.

* Foreign language proficiency.

This critical leader will be responsible for managing Kabul-based programs which include health programs building Ministry of Public Health capacity, direct implementation of child-focused landmine education and training of trainers, rehabilitation of schools, creation of PTAs, and training in innovative education support activities for children.
