DPK seeks an experienced justice system strategy
advisor for a long-term position to support justice system reform activity in
Kosovo. Advisor will work with legal community and civil society to define the
structure and functions of the future Kosovar justice system and to develop an
action plan, milestones, and practical and participatory mechanisms for the
transition from the current structure under the United Nations Interim
Administrative Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) to a fully "Kosovarized"
system.
Other duties for this position include:
>> Lead participatory process for drafting or
revising legislations needed for the transition
>> Engage and consult extensively with the
Kosovar stakeholders – general public, NGOs, legal professionals -- and UNMIK
(especially Pillar One) to develop the action plan and guide the transition
process
>> Provide assistance as required for the
conceptual formulation and drafting of new laws and secondary legislation, or
amendments thereto, relating to the structure and functions of the judiciary
and other legal sector institutions and to the procedures under which the
courts operate
>> Provide assistance as requires to determine the appropriate organizational structure and
functions of new or restructured legal institutions
>> Make operational any new or restructured
legal institutions and/or new or revised procedures for case processing adopted
by the Kosovar government.
