Job Description:
ICASO is an international charitable organization working
to strengthen the community-based response to HIV/AIDS (www.icaso.org). Built
upon ICASO’s core activities, a bold new initiative is being undertaken to
strengthen the advocacy/networking skills of in-country non-governmental
organizations (NGOs) and the organizational capacity of the ICASO Regional
Secretariats. You will bring experience
in global program development with an understanding of HIV/AIDS and developing
country issues. Experienced with both
donors/decision-makers and community development, you will work with 5 Regional
Secretariats around the world to deliver the program, including managing a
grants component. Reporting to the
Executive Director, you will participate in a small, growing & dedicated
team based at the Central Secretariat in
Specific Tasks & Responsibilities
-Provide overall program management of the Global
Initiative.
-Facilitate final program planning and
implementation.
-Provide technical support to the Regional
Secretariats; facilitate program management capacity building of RS including
field visits and training sessions.
-Develop and manage grants & contributions
framework.
-Develop program monitoring strategies and
facilitate annual review and workplans.
-Liase with program funder(s) including between funder
and recipient organizations.
-Assist the Executive Director in soliciting funds
from donors.
-Manage program budget.
-Coordinate hiring and supervise program
consultants.
-Prepare documents such as project proposals and
reports.
-Prepare articles and deliver presentations.
-Represent ICASO in keeping with its policies and
principles in international fora.
-Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive
Director.
Qualifications: Qualifications/Experience:
-Senior leadership experience in a global program
working with multiple non-governmental organizations.
-Demonstrated program management experience and
skills.
-Strong communication skills in English, written and
spoken.
-Ability to speak a language other than English:
Spanish or French preferred.
-Knowledge of international HIV/AIDS issues and
community development strategies.
-Knowledge of advocacy and NGO organizational
development definite assets.
-3-5 years related work in NGOs.
-Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple
responsibilities/tasks.
-Ability to work independently and as a team member
and team leader.
-Experience and comfort working with diverse
communities.
-Good interpersonal and diplomacy skills; experience
in consensus-building.
-Demonstrated ability to foster positive and

-University degree or equivalent in experience.
-Able to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Communications Associate / Women's Learning Partnership
(WLP) /
THE ORGANIZATION:
Women's Learning Partnership (WLP) is an international,
non-profit organization working to advance communication and cooperation among the women of
the world in order to protect human rights, facilitate sustainable development,
and promote peace. WLP's programs promote women's leadership and participation
in civil society, and women's equal engagement in the production and exchange
of information and resources worldwide. To accomplish this, we work in
collaboration with partner organizations in the Global South. WLP is currently
working in
JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
WLP's Communications Associate will be based at the
WLP liaison office in
- Coordinate the development of e-newsletters,
listservs, and online discussion boards.
- Establish and develop contacts with media
representatives to promote WLP's mission and programs. Write press releases.
- Assist with the implementation of radio webcasts
and video-conference meetings among WLP partners.
- Assist with updating, expanding, and developing
content for WLP's websites.
- Write progress reports and technical
documentation.
- Provide
general communications and technical support to staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Communications or Information Systems
and minimum 2 years experience working in the non-profit sector.
- Commitment and dedication to advancing women's
rights.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to communicate with individuals from
diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to
detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under
pressure.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with development and/or women's
non-profit organizations.
