Australian Wildlife Conservancy is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of Australia's wildlife. Our network of wildlife sanctuaries includes Karakamia, Paruna, Mt Gibson and Faure Island, all located in the southwest region of Western Australia. Covering 140,000ha, the properties contain a variety of habitats (forests, woodlands, heathland, shrublands and mangroves) plus a diversity of wildlife including several reintroduced mammals.

The Regional Manager (Southwest) will supervise a team of five staff and have a key role in preparing and implementing budgets and management plans. You will need a history of practical experience in property and asset management, fire management, wildlife monitoring and feral animal control plus experience in managing staff and budgets.  Fire management will be an important responsibility.

The Regional Manager will work within a small team reporting to the National Sanctuaries Manager. This is an opportunity to be involved in a leading conservation organisation focussed on innovative approaches to natural resource management.

Round 6 of the Commonwealth Government's Natural Heritage Trust and WWF Australia's TSN Community Grants program is now open. Applications must be submitted in writing to WWF Australia by 5pm, June 6, 2003.

The TSN Community Grants have been established to support and inspire community work to recover threatened species and ecological communities. The Grants aim to provide seed funding to assist community groups to take on long term responsibility for conservation and recovery of populations of nationally threatened species and ecological communities.
