Mercy Corps is assisting drought-stricken communities in Zimbabwe to improve food security.

The Country Representative is the senior management position for Mercy Corps in Zimbabwe with supervisory and managerial responsibility over all country personnel, offices, programs and policies. The Representative provides the vision and leadership in developing programs and establishing Mercy Corps in the country. The Representative ensures that Mercy Corps activities are planned and executed with quality, accountability, and measurable impact. S/he represents Mercy Corps with donors, government authorities, other NGOs and the public.

This position requires an MA or equivalent in social science or management and seven years of field experience in international relief and development programs; five years practical experience in NGO and national staff capacity building and management and proven skills in financial management; 5 years of senior-level leadership and field management experience; demonstrated ability to function as a social entrepreneur and proven success with managing a team of professionals; successful and proven negotiation, communication, organization, networking, and prioritization skills and experience; experience with UN, European, USAID, and bi-lateral donors; proven experience working effectively and respectfully with host country government, NGO and CBO partners; experience and proven skill in thinking creatively and "out of the box", demonstrating sensitivity with people and issues of the developing world, and the ability to function as a team player among peers; the ability and desire to grow individually and professionally; the ability to work comfortably within the Zimbabwe cultural environment; demonstrated skill and experience in report writing and financial/budget management, monitoring and evaluation, combined with strong individual and team building skills and experience; and effective verbal and written communication.

Mercy Corps has been working in Bosnia since 1993. The Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial management of Mercy Corps' Bosnia program, ensuring compliance with Mercy Corps accounting, procurement and reporting requirements as well as donor regulations.

This position requires a BA/S or equivalent in accounting/finance; 6 years finance and personnel management experience and 4 years experience managing international donor grants; three years working for an international NGO/PVO in a field office setting; in-depth knowledge of donor regulations, including UNHCR, USG and European donors; experience in ensuring operational compliance with donor and agency policies, such as procurement; demonstrated experience and skill with budget preparation and analysis, financial reporting preparation and presentation and the proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports; strong accounting skills and experience, including management of the general ledger, journal entries, payroll, payables and balance sheet; effective verbal and written communication in English, multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization skills; and demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work with team members as well as independently. Knowledge of Bosnian language is preferred.
