Job description: The Associate will develop and administer office policies and practices and assist the Chief Financial Officer.  This position is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate interested in finance/investment management, microfinance, and/or international development to gain exposure within an industry-leading company.

 

Tasks and responsibilities include:

•       Creating financial reports

•       General assistance as needed to the CFO

•       Develop and administer office policies and procedures

•       Track and manage administration of investments

d.      creating financial reports for company and investors, including annual report, and

The Deputy Chief of Party, reports to the Chief of Party for Mercy Corps’ Community Action Investment Program (CAIP) and is primarily responsible for the program’s smooth implementation, focusing on the establishment of effective systems for managing, monitoring and reporting in accordance with USAID and Mercy Corps guidelines. The DCOP manages operations of CAIP and Peaceful Communities Initiative in the Ferghana Valley area of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Qualifications:

• MA/S in a social science, business administration, management or other relevant field
• 5 years of supervisory field experience on USAID and USG-funded programs
• Successful and proven negotiation, communication, organization, prioritization and national staff capacity-building skills and experience
• Experience and proven skill in thinking creatively and “out of the box”, demonstrating sensitivity with people and issues of the developing world, and the ability to function as a team player among peers

The Project Manager will manage Mercy Corps’ Iran Community Infrastructure Program to achieve the greatest impact. This program includes project activities such as infrastructure and construction, water supply and sanitation, subgrants to local NGOs and local capacity building. The overall program goal is to improve the living conditions of earthquake affected population.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/S in Civil Engineering or equivalent (MA/S preferred) in education, international development or related field
• Three years international experience implementing an integrated community infrastructure and development project involving education, civil society and local capacity building
• Demonstrated skill and experience in report writing and financial/budget management, monitoring and evaluation, combined with strong individual and team management skills and experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in complex, high stress situations
• Proven experience working effectively and respectfully with host country government, NGO and national staff
• Ability to implement multiple projects in a short period

SARRP Programme Manager - Kabul/Central Highlands, Afghanistan +b

The Programme Manager will manage the EC-funded SARRP (Southern Afghanistan Rural Recovery Programme), a 24-month programme aimed at the recovery of rural livelihoods in approximately 100 communities in six districts of Southern Afghanistan. SARRP will be implemented closely with local communities to meet immediate community participation, food security, and household economic needs, while laying the foundation to address longer-term, more complex issues dealing with social change/stability, community action planning, and agricultural and economic development. SARRP will empower communities to prioritise, plan and implement projects that foster civic participation, support and expand rural agricultural development, support the creation of farmers’ organizations and value-added agricultural enterprises, rebuild essential productive infrastructure, create employment and ultimately increase household incomes.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in international development, management, or public administration, equivalencies of education and experience will be considered
• Three to 5 years of senior field management experience, focused on working with rural communities to promote sustainable development
• Key programmatic experience necessary includes community mobilization, community project administration, agricultural development and economic opportunities
• Preferred experience includes farmer organization building, association development and agri-enterprise development
• Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate, initiate and maintain positive relationships with communities, local citizen’s groups and indigenous NGOs
• Proven grant management and budget oversight skills
• The ability to lead and manage a team of national staff
• Must possess a strong understanding of the current political, economic, social conditions and the historical context of Afghanistan.
• The ability to work comfortably and effectively in the religious, security and political climate of Afghanistan
• Experience with EC grants including program development, donor compliance, monitoring, evaluating and reporting is preferred

*** Provide expertise for the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and follow-up of child-centered integrated water supply, hygiene promotion and environmental sanitation interventions;

3.       Representation

*** Represent Plan on water supply, hygiene and sanitation issues to other water and sanitation institutions and organisations at a Country level;

·        Represent Plan Indonesia on water supply, hygiene and sanitation issues to other Plan Countries;

·        Develop/promote networks at Plan level and/or with partner organizations to support the Plan works on water supply, hygiene promotion and environmental sanitation interventions.

Qualifications

*** Degree (or equivalent) in Water supply and Sanitation Engineering/ Civil engineering with Water and Sanitation experience

*** Willing to travel and spend; time in remote villages
