Duties will include: management and oversight of a $1.5 million, 24-month Track-2 conflict management program, including operations, personnel, finance, strategic management, and other program areas; develop programming, monitor, and track project progress in areas of conflict management, community participation, and economic development; serve as the primary representative of the program to donors, government representatives, NGOs, communities, private sector, and other stakeholders. This position will require significant time managing projects in the rural areas of Tajikistan. This position reports to the Director of Field Program Operations.
Minimum Requirements: Masters Degree in related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing international development programs, or Bachelors Degree with at least 8 years of experience; professional experience with Track-2 conflict mitigation programming; familiarity with employment generation programs, community participation processes (including youth-based initiatives), and working with local governments; experience in Central Asian Republics. Language(s) required: English fluency; knowledge of Tajik, Russian or Farsi a plus.

Based in Dar-es-salaam with extensive travel in the field. This position has the overall responsibility of ensuring the management of the Tumaini Program under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDs Relief (PEPFAR). Tumaini is working in 5 regions of Tanzania and addressing the ‘Continuum of Care’ with HIV/AIDS. It is a complex grants program that works directly with 5 Alliance Partners responsible for the provision of technical assistance into the program and up to 30 sub-grantees responsible for the delivery of the program. The program seeks to target People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) to insure they are supported by the “Continuum of Care” which addresses a comprehensive set of support needs from home based care to counselling services. Tumaini is funded by USAID under PEPFAR with a budget of US $ 5 million in calendar year 2004 and a provisional budget of US $ 5 million for calendar year 2005. The Chief of Party (COP) will be responsible for the overall financial and programmatic oversight of the program to insure proper quality and timeliness of the deliverables committed to in the program.
This post will line manage two senior managers responsible for the financial and technical outputs of the program. A considerable time will be spent coordinating and liaison with other national actors and partners responsible for delivering Tanzania’s national HIV/AIDs response strategy of which the program plays a central role.
CARE has been active in Tanzania since 1994, seeking to address poverty and social injustice through a diverse programme portfolio in education, HIV/AIDS, health, food and income, conservation and civil society strengthening. The programme is made up of 16 different projects and being implemented in 11 regions of the mainland as well as Zanzibar.
Qualifications and skills required: Requirements include: Masters in Public Health and/or Management; minimum 5 years in similar roles; excellent leadership and management skills; strong understanding of interventions in HIV/AIDS; excellent conceptualization, facilitation, planning and monitoring skills; familiarity with Health Sector Reforms; excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of self motivation, integrity and initiative; excellent oral and written skills in English, skilled in word processing and spreadsheet operations, preferably in a windows environment.
Desirable; Kiswahili, familiarity with resource organizations and professional networks in Tanzania, experience with USAID or US government contracting and financial procedures.

The Global Advocacy Director is the chief advocacy strategist for HRW, with responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of quality and effectiveness for HRW's diverse advocacy efforts. THE POSITION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

DESCRIPTION
CVT is seeking mental health clinicians and trainers for work with refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia who have suffered torture and war trauma.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
--Provide psychosocial
mental health intervention for refugees and IDPs in camps and communities, in
the form of individual counseling, group therapy
and community/large group training & activities.
--Design and carryout training programs for refugee/IDP community counselors – including on-going training and supervision.
--Carryout needs assessment in refugee camps and communities to determine appropriate mental health interventions for people who have been tortured and/or traumatized by war, to include identification of target population, appropriate program intervention models and program sites.
--Participate in the design and implementation of a program evaluation.

The Women's Housing Coalition (WHC) is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to serve as its executive director and build on its twenty-five-year history of providing a continuum of housing and support services to economically disadvantaged, homeless women from the Baltimore metropolitan area. The WHC serves women through its Transitional and Permanent Housing, Scattered Site, and Family Programs.
Since 1979 the Women's
Housing Coalition has been at the forefront in the development of housing
opportunities and services to low-income and homeless women, many of these
women experience co-occurring health and
mental health problems. The WHC was instrumental in founding the first emergency shelter for women in Baltimore, Maryland the first Transitional Housing Program for women in Baltimore City, and the first Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Program for women in Maryland, which has become a national model for low-income, special needs housing.
Mission: The Women's Housing Coalition is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness for women and children by fostering their economic and social independence and by advocating for the increased availability of quality, affordable housing. Programs: Women's Housing Coalition offers a continuum of housing which provides an opportunity for women to move through our programs to independence:
--Calverton (transitional housing model for fourteen women);
--Margaret J. Bennett House (twenty-nine units of permanent SRO housing for formerly homeless women);
--Susanna Wesley House (nine transitional housing units for families);
--Twenty-five Shelter Plus Care subsidized scattered site apartments in Baltimore City.
THE POSITION:
The Executive Director reports to a Board of Directors comprised of twenty representatives of the community, including one program resident. Over this past year the Board successfully completed a strategic planning process.
The Executive Director leads a staff of nine. These include the Program Director, three case managers, a part-time bookkeeper, a receptionist, and three resident managers. In addition, the Executive Director manages a part-time grant writer and maintenance person.
The Executive Director is responsible for an annual operating budget of $900,000 and should be familiar with monitoring and understanding complex financial portfolios.

Working out of FMF’s Los Angeles office, the Western States Campus Organizer works with student activists and feminist faculty at campuses in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The Campus Organizer launches and maintains pro-choice, feminist activist groups called Feminist Majority Leadership Alliances; implements FMF’s campus campaign, called Choices; and conducts leadership and issue-based training for student activists. QUALIFICATIONS:
--Postgraduate degree in law with specialization in gender and human rights law preferably with some exposure to Islamic Law/ Islamic Studies

SCOPE:
The Office of the Special Representative for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings is looking for:
--a qualified candidate who, through the Special Representative, will assist and advise OSCE participating States in the implementation of the OSCE Action Plan to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings and the UN Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons.
DUTIES
Your duties will be to assist and advise the Special Representative in his/her overall anti-trafficking mission and work in supporting OSCE participating States in the development and implementation of their national plans of action. You will be responsible for the management, co-ordination and executive functions of the Unit and oversee the daily responsibilities of the Office. You will support the Special Representative with policy level analysis, recommend the development of strategies and anti-trafficking initiatives and responses to requests for information about trafficking in human beings. You will co-ordinate the efforts of other OSCE structures engaged in combating trafficking in human beings across the three dimensions and to avoid duplication of effort organization-wide. You will supervise the production of verbal and written briefs, the preparation of reports, speaking notes and political documents as requested. You will ensure a regular flow of information to member States on the activities of the Special Representative and the progress of initiatives. You will liaise and network with relevant actors such as international organizations and NGOs and promote the public/political profile of the Office's activities. You will supervise the preparation of country visits of the Special Representative and represent him/her in closed and public meetings, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
--Advanced university degree.
--Extensive experience in the human rights field, with involvement in human trafficking issues and/or practical law enforcement or prosecutorial experience in human trafficking, including several years in a managerial/senior/policy-making role.
--Practical knowledge of working with or on behalf of victims of trafficking. Experience in anti-trafficking training would be an advantage.
--Excellent managerial skills.
--Resourcefulness, initiative and maturity of judgment.
--Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds whilst remaining impartial and objective.
--Professional fluency in English and preferably working knowledge of another OSCE official language.
--Ability to operate windows applications, including word processing and e-mail.
--Willingness to travel.
