Next to clients at the municipal and provincial level, SNV also works with partner organizations at the national level.
The SNV portfolio team for East Province is looking for a Junior Advisor who, under the responsibility of the Advisor, will support the conception and implementation of the operational strategy for PSD support to meso level client organisations in the region.
Function / task description:
In close collaboration with other members of the team, the Junior Advisor will:
• Assist
client-organisations in the strengthening of their organisational and PSD
capacities
• Contribute
to the development and to the implementation of training modules in the domain
of PSD
• Contribute
to the knowledge on existing meso level client organisations and to the
development of tools to measure their efficiency
• Develop

Qualifications and skills required: Educational background: University degree (MSc or equivalent) preferable in business administration, economics, business development or development studies; education and specialisation in micro and meso enterprise development and/or commercialisation.
Working Experience: At least 2 years in private sector development with proven experience in market linkages and business development services. Working knowledge and experience in business strategy development. Experience in the development sector is an asset.

Description duty station:
Bertoua: The Junior Advisor will be placed in Bertoua, the capital of the East province. The town is located in-between the savannah and the tropical forest and is characterised by an administrative background. The economy of the region is primarily based on industrial and trade activities to or from the Central African Republic. Shopping for daily needs can reasonably be done on the local markets. Internet and cell phone networks are available.
Medical and educational facilities: There are no schools of international standard. Local public, private and missionary primary, secondary and high schools are reasonable. There are a few well-stocked chemist shops. There are clinics and state, missionary and private hospitals. For any more serious treatments one would turn to facilities in Yaoundé (or abroad).
Security situation: Bertoua is a safe town, but normal precautions need to be taken.
Accessibility: From Yaoundé, the capital of the country, Bertoua can be reached after 5 hours drive on an un-tarred road, depending on weather conditions.
Salary: Minimum Euro 2.172 - maximum Euro 3.106 gross per month (hypo tax will be deducted), excluding attractive secondary conditions and individual allowances.
