Duties:

        Seeking opportunities for program expansion through new funding, preparing follow-on proposals in Haiti and abroad;

        Assisting the Program Director and Resident Representative in the management of programs and the Haiti Office as requested.

Qualifications and skills required: Haitian origin preferred; Haitian experience necessary; English at near native level necessary; French or Créole necessary, the other a strong asset. WWI seeks an experienced Microfinance Project Director for its USAID funded microfinance project in Iraq. POSITION SUMMARY:

Horn Relief is an African led international organization that was established in 1991 in response to Somalia's devastating humanitarian crisis and civil war.


Horn Relief is seeking a qualified and committed individual to join the Horn Relief team as the Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator will be a full-time member of the Horn Relief staff, working with the Management and Field Teams in Nairobi, Kenya and the Horn Relief offices in Somalia. The Program Coordinator reports to and works most closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Field Director. The Program Coordinator will develop and implement fundraising strategies, and will be responsible for program design and linking field operations to program administration and planning. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya but with frequent travel to project areas in Somalia.


The Program Coordinator is a full-time position and the contract period is for two years, beginning January 9, 2006, with the possibility of extension.


SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

Horn Relief is actively seeking a candidate who is committed to its mission and vision. Ideal candidates must have an undergraduate degree in International Relations, Education, Environmental Studies, Political or Social Sciences or related development field training and experience, and a Masters degree in one of those fields is preferred. A strong interest in a career in participatory community development is important. A minimum of 3 years professional experience in program management and fundraising is required, preferably in the international development context.

The Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice is looking to fill the following position in its office in The Hague, the Netherlands: Programme Officer (Full Time).


The Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice is an international women's human rights organisation working to ensure justice for women and an independent and effective International Criminal Court (ICC).


SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Programme Officer will be part of a small, highly efficient and motivated team. This position will provide programme functions including research, analysis, monitoring, resource development, and training co-ordination.


PRIMARY TASKS:

- Support the campaigns and advocacy work of the Women's Initiatives through co-ordination and facilitation with partners and allies

- Contribute to the Women's Initiatives monitoring activities in relation to the Office of the Prosecutor, Registry and Judiciary

-  Contribute to the Women's Initiatives monitoring activities in relation to the Board of the Trust Fund and the Assembly of States Parties

-  Support outreach programmes and strategies to raise awareness about the ICC amongst a range of movements and networks, specifically women's movements.

-  Conduct research for and contribute to publications, articles and expert papers

-  Provide support for field missions

-  Co-ordinate ICC-related training


REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum 5 years working in the field of women's human rights and gender equality

- Experience working at national and international levels including working within the NGO sector

- Awareness of and commitment to the Rome Statute and the International Criminal Court

- Strong analytical skills and ability to absorb information quickly

- Highly organized, reliable attention to detail and ability to work independently when needed

- Proven research and writing skills

- Creative and strategic thinker

- Excellent communication abilities including effective inter-personal skills

- Advanced computer skills

- Ability to work under-pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload and 'multi-task'

9) Gender and Development Consultant / International Rescue

Committee (IRC) / Indonesia.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

The International Rescue Committee currently seeks a Gender and Development Consultant for its Indonesia Program. Following the tsunami disaster on December 26, 2004, CARDI-IRC deployed a robust Emergency Response in the province of Aceh, Indonesia. CARDI-IRC emergency teams provided water &amp; sanitation, primary health care, emergency supplies and materials, and emergency child protection interventions.


This program has evolved into a Community Regeneration initiative that emphasizes restoration of livelihoods and economic recovery. With support from a variety of public and private donors, CARDI-IRC's Community Regeneration strategy is reviving four targeted disaster-affected communities to achieve, at minimum, their former level of functioning and to rebuild their lives and ways of living.


A consultant is required to evaluate, guide and enhance CARDI-IRC's Aceh Response's present and future initiatives in Gender and Development to ensure that best practices in are incorporated into the program. Going forward the program will focus on community regeneration with special emphasis on livelihood and economic recovery activities.
