description : The American Institutes for Research’s (AIR) International
Development Program seeks to enhance the capacity of developing countries to
improve their quality of life through education and social development. We have worked in collaboration with local
partners in more than 80 countries over the past three decades. In partnership with others, we seek to ensure
children’s equitable access to all levels of education; improve the quality and
relevance of education; and empower individuals, communities and institutions
as agents of social and behavioral change. Headquartered in

COP will provide the vision, technical leadership and management oversight for
the project in addition to the supervision, administration and implementation
of the contract in the field. This individual will establish and maintain
systems for project operations, ensure that all contractual deadlines are met
and targets are achieved, maintain working relationships with project
stakeholders and partners and oversee the preparation and submission of
periodic progress and financial reports. The COP will deal with partner
organizations and coordinate with USAID and other donors in all aspects of
project planning, monitoring and execution.

Job qualifications : Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D.-level degree in international education or related field. Ten years of experience working in education in developing countries, with special emphasis on teacher professional development, interactive radio instruction and/or using ICT in educational settings and development and production of teaching/learning materials in Africa or other experience directly related to tasks in the SOW required. Eight to ten years of successful experience managing and providing technical, administrative and financial guidance either as a COP of similar senior-level position on international education projects; experience in strategic planning, managing and directing a large staff and multiple sub-contractors on complex projects; experience managing a national intervention with large budget; excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French; and strong interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of USAID regulations and familiarity with management of projects in fragile states are highly desirable.

The Senior HIV/AIDS Advisor will provide strategic technical guidance and programmatic support to American Red Cross’ HIV/AIDS programs to ensure the implementation of best practices, new developments and lessons learned. Responsibilities include conducting regular visits to country of on-going HIV programs to ensure quality and efficiency of management, reviewing health project reports and providing feedback and assistance for project plans, as well as leading the development of new HIV programs. This position will also work to build the capacity of Red Cross societies by seeking new funding opportunities, developing proposals to external donors and developing grant proposals.

The Senior Health Program Coordinator will lead the
refinement and implementation of an operational plan for American Red Cross’
international programming in health. Leading a team of 3-5 health advisors, this position will support the
implementation of health projects, provide advice for new and on-going health
programs and coordinate and develop partnerships with other Red Cross Movement
partners and key stakeholders. Other
responsibilities include seeking opportunities for cross-program learning,
supporting health program monitoring and evaluation and assisting with delegate
recruitment/mentoring/training.
