Director who will lead the organisation from the Head
Office.
Organic
Agriculture is currently practiced by more than one million farmers. The
organic markets have been growing at a rate of 20 percent per year over the
last decade and are valued today at USD 30 billion worldwide. At the center of
this development is IFOAM – The International Federation of Organic Agriculture
Movements with 750 members in 105 countries.
Our
members are organisations covering the whole organic
chain; producers, certification bodies, trade development NGOs, consultancy and

Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors for leading and

description : Organizational Background: In 1987, a group of North American doctors
and nurses, many of whom had worked as cooperantes in
post-independence Mozambique, formed the Mozambique Health Committee (MHC) to
support the government’s commitment to social justice, equity in access to
health care, and an internationally recognized model of Primary Health Care.
The early work of MHC (which later became Health Alliance International [HAI])
focused its support on the public health sector during the proxy war fomented
by the apartheid governments of South Africa and Rhodesia. After the peace
accords in 1992, MHC/HAI expanded its efforts to rebuild health service
capacity through the provision of health workers, training, and material
support for the emerging Mozambique health system. Over the past 20 years HAI
has continued to work to support comprehensive Primary Health Care, with a
focus on integrating new interventions in the areas of HIV/AIDS, maternal and
child health, tuberculosis, malaria, nutrition, public health education,
laboratory and operations research.
The
key element of HAI’s approach involves partnering with the Ministry of Health
(MOH) to strengthen existing services and promote innovative new programs. HAI technical staff share offices and work
side by side with local health system counterparts to develop and implement
programs and services for integration into MOH strategies.
HAI
currently has field offices in Chimoio, (Manica Province), Beira (Sofala
Province), Nampula (Nampula
Province) and Tete (Tete
Province) where we work closely with the district-level and provincial-level
officials of the Ministry of Health (MOH). HAI is also supporting the Ministry
of Health’s Operations Research Center in Beira. Our Maputo office works
closely with national MOH departments, particularly the Department of Medical
Care, which oversees the national scale-up of HIV/AIDS treatment and care.

Job
summary
The
Quantitative Research Technical Advisor will provide technical support to
research activities in HAI Mozambique ensuring that the research activities
match the strategic and technical guidance of HAI and the local health system
to improve the impact of health programs. S/he will strengthen local capacity
to conduct operations research and supports the utilization of research
findings. S/he will coordinate and supervise the work of research
assistants/data clerks.
Responsibilities

in Burkina Faso since 1970, SNV is composed of 4 multidisciplinary,
multinational portfolio teams of 8 to 10 permanent advisors each. Two
portfolios are located in Ouagadougou and two in Bobo-Dioulasso.
SNV
Burkina currently focus its work on poverty reduction through two major impact
areas: “Sustainable and Equitable Production, Income and Employment (PIE)”, as
well as “Effective, Efficient and Increased Access to and Delivery of Basic
Services (BASE)”. Governance is an important cross-cutting theme.
Sustainability, gender equity and social inclusion are key elements of good
governance. SNV contributes to poverty reduction by providing capacity
development services to partner organisations at “meso” or intermediate level in order to improve their
performance, so that they can make better deliberate choices, deliver
appropriate services to their members and defend the interests of poor people.
To
contribute to the fight against desertification and make household energy
accessible for the poor, SNV has recently chosen to promote the use of biogas.
The overall goal of SNV Burkina Faso is to contribute to improve the

main responsibilities will be:
A.
Advisory Services
• Support clients in developing and
implementing successful biogas/RE dissemination programmes
• Support the operational management of
the DBP (Domestic Biogas Program) through coaching of and advice to its project
coordinator and other staff members
• Lead the implementation of the SNV
Burkina Faso strategy for Biogas, and translate it into continued support
activities to a wide range of actors
• Provide client focused quality capacity
building advisory services to multi-actors and Local Capacity Builders (LCBs)
in Biogas
• Initiate and contributes to regional
activities within his/her field of expertise
• Stimulate market and product innovation
